Cycling Weekly from 2014 comments on the frameset, that is of high quality carbon and would take a variety of upgrades at any time, with the wheels probably being a priority as those on the base model are relatively heavy. Also the review mentions the high level of comfort: which is due to the general design and particularly the Zertz frame inserts, giving a smooth ride over every lump and bump and in addition, the gearing that has been selected to give a range that will give you decent speed and an ability to climb steep hills. Overall this reviewer gives the bike a 4.5/5 rating.

Amongst the reviews is one from Tri Radar from 2014 mentioning the stable handling, as the bike geometry is designed to be quite long and relaxed, with quite a high front, which makes it very user-friendly. This review also mentions the ride comfort: which is very good on account of the much reported frame design that evens out bumps and uneven roads, combined with other cushioning components and the component specification that is only average for the cost of the bike, with obvious upgrades being the brakes and the drivetrain.

Bike Radar has a review from 2105 (covering the Disc model) and detailing the fun handling, which gives confidence and a stable, secure ride in all sorts of positions with the ability to respond rapidly to power input for speed. There are also good comments for the Specialized Roubaix SL4 Elite, about the ride comfort: that is extremely good, like all the bikes in this range, given the general performance at speed or on rough surfaces and the versatility in that you can take enjoy this bike on or off road, at speed or pushing up steep hills on gravel, with enough gearing spread to make it fun. This review gives a rating of 4.0/5.

There are also good comments for the Specialized Roubaix S-Works SL4, about the comfort combined with speed: which is delivered by the frame design giving a relaxed ride that removes bumps and fatigue, which will also give you great response when you want to push on and the fun to ride mainly because of its great adaptability whether you are on sportifs, gravel tracks or long hills, mountains or flat.
