This is one of the most popular and well reviewed fixed speed bikes and Charge have built the Plug in a no nonsense way, to combine retro looks with, solid, reliable components that allow you to treat the bike with a fair level of disrespect. The design of this bike combines a retro look with high specification current components, using a traditional even shaped steel tubed frame in the 3 current models and unusually including disc braked wheels, putting Charge Filter bikes pretty much in the forefront of bike design trends. They are often described as cyclocross bikes, but are actually well suited to heavy use in commuting and road biking in general.

Although this has many features of a modern hybrid city bike, like flat handlebars and is intended for that use, in common with other Charge bikes, the Mixer uses a traditional steel frame base. In addition, the gear mechanism returns to the old internal hub design that was once standard on many bikes, which given today’s rat-race is obviously going to help reliability when in hard use for city commuting.
